Emergency Services

Community Action Partnership provides services for customers with urgent basic human needs such as food, clothing, financial assistance and emergency shelter.

Information and Referral/ Short- Term Case Management

Persons wishing to receive these services should call (937) 341-5000 for information and referrals for emergency shelter, emergency financial assistance, food pantries, and local clothing resources.

Walk- in Services

At our 719 Main Street facility, Community Action Partnership has staff available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday to see people on a walk-in basis. Please bring the following documentation to your interview:

  • Picture ID
  • Social Security Cards for all household members
  • Proof of income for the last 13 weeks

Emergency Financial Assistance

Community Action Partnership is currently taking application for emergency financial assistance to help Montgomery County residents maintain utility services and housing. This program is designed to prevent disconnection of DP&L and Vectren services, eviction and foreclosure. Funds are distributed on a first come-first served basis. The program will last until 9/30/10 or until all funds have been exhausted; whichever comes first. All persons who wish to apply should contact Deborah Ferguson at 496-2074 to complete a telephone screening.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant is a Montgomery County resident with an eviction notice/foreclosure notice dated within 30 days of application.
  • The reason for the delinquency/default is due to circumstances beyond the control of the applicant i.e.; job loss, illness, injury, death of wage earner etc. The applicant must be able to document the reason.
  • Applicant must have adequate income to pay future months payments
  • The payment along with funds provided by the applicant will prevent the eviction/foreclosure and guarantee at least 30 days of housing.
  • All other resources have been exhausted.
