Metropolitan Housing Authority

Community Action Partnership is the managing agent for the Darke County Metropolitan Housing Authority and administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program.  This program assists low-income individuals and families afford decent, safe and sanitary housing in the private market.  Eligible individuals and families are issued a housing voucher, and are free to find a suitable housing unit of their choice.

This unit must be one in which the owner agrees to rent under the program.  Rental units must meet minimum standards of health and safety, as determined by Housing Quality Standards.

This agency pays a housing subsidy directly to the landlord, on behalf of the participating family or individual.  The family then pays the difference between the actual rent charged by the landlord and the amount paid by the program.  Eligibility for the program is based on income and family size.  If you are interested in applying for a voucher, applications may be picked at the agency.
